Project Objectives

  • Prepare an independent village development plan for Pimparwadi.

  • Build an ideal model village.

  • Achieve the status of a tourism village for Pimparwadi.

  • Get recognition as an independent Gram Sabha (village assembly).

  • Enhance women’s participation to increase village entrepreneurship.

  • Formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

  • Joint home ownership campaign.

  • Social security baseline survey.


PESA Gram Sabha (19/08/2025)

Highlights:

  • First-ever Gram Sabha organized.

  • Total participants: 45 (men and women).

  • Significant women’s presence.

  • Resolutions passed:

    • Streetlight approval for the company.

    • No-objection resolution on land allocation.

    • Joint homeownership: nameplate expenses covered by Gram Kosh Samiti.

    • Discussion on PESA fund usage at the village level.

  • Decision to hold Pimparwadi Gram Sabha every two months independently.

  • Efforts to ensure at least 2 government officers are present in the village every week.


Agriculture – Nachni (Finger Millet) Cultivation

  • Demo plots: 4 locations, 17 seed varieties, planted by 11 farmers.

  • Due to unseasonal rains:

    • 8 farmers’ seedlings germinated.

    • 3 farmers’ seeds failed to sprout.

  • Direct sowing: 8 farmers, 1.5 hectares under cultivation.


Water & Health

  • Water ATM started at Pimparwadi and Ambe.

  • Each person gets 20 liters of purified water daily.

  • To be officially handed over to the Village Development Committee this month.

  • Plans to organize training sessions on proper Water ATM usage.

  • Awareness Workshop on Government Schemes:

    • Conducted at Integrated Tribal Development Project, Ghodgaon.

    • Information shared about schemes.

    • 5 women filled out forms for schemes.

  • Social Security Baseline Survey: 49 families covered.

  • Village visit by Director Reshma Tai Sabre on 16 August 2025.


Hand-Pounded Rice (Traditional Paddy Processing)

  • Meeting organized for hand-pounded rice enterprise.

  • Formation of joint producer & processing group: 8 women + 7 men.

  • Registration process started; application to be submitted to Agriculture Department.

  • Documentation work is in progress.

Leadership:

  • President – Balu Ghode

  • Secretary – Nanda Dagale

  • Exhibition Stall at Ghodgaon:

    • 50 kg of Raibhog rice sold @ ₹100/kg.

Cluster Survey – Hand-pounded Rice:

  • Expected production: 78 tons.

  • Sold so far: 23 tons.

  • Still available: 23 tons.

Discussion on Labor Budget:

  • Total available labor in the village: 220 people.


Poverty Alleviation Programs

  • Upcoming programs include:

    • Wild vegetable festival.

    • Workshop on government schemes.

    • Literacy classes on Saturdays & Sundays.

    • Training sessions on Water ATM usage.

    • Tourism guide search & training.

    • Independent Gram Sabha fund mobilization.

    • Homestay setup & awareness.

    • Legal process for land transfer to producer company.

    • Seed collection for Nachni (seed bank).

    • Proposal submission for government subsidy schemes (e.g., Rani Durgavati Tribal Women Empowerment Scheme).

Board of Directors Update
This year, Dr. Anjali Limaye will be stepping down from the Board of Directors. We sincerely thank her for her dedicated service and contributions for the past 9 years.
We are now accepting applications for the open Board of Director position. Interested and qualified candidates must meet the following criteria
  • Be a Patron/Life Member or General Member for the current year (2024–2025)
  • Demonstrate alignment with the Foundation’s mission and values
  • Be willing to serve a three-year term
  • Be able to actively participate in Board meetings, contribute to Pancham Project management, and bring complementary skills to enhance the Foundation’s governance, program impact, and community outreach in support of its mission

Fundraiser Event May 2025 – Florida (FL)

In May 2025, Maharashtra Foundation hosted a vibrant Fundraiser Event in Florida, bringing together local supporters, cultural enthusiasts, and philanthropists united for rural and youth development in Maharashtra.

Purpose of the Event

This event aimed to support key initiatives such as:

  • Education & Youth Programs in rural regions
  • Healthcare Access for underserved communities
  • Livelihood Support for women entrepreneurs and farmers
  • Environmental Sustainability & Water Conservation Projects

Highlights of the Evening

  • 🎶 Cultural Showcase: Performances featuring Marathi music, dance, and fusion acts created a festive and engaging evening.
  • 🎤 Celebrity Guests & Remarks:
    • Atul Kulkarni, legendary National Award-winning actor and President of the Quest Education Support Trust, spoke passionately about “transformative education.” Quest works with government schools across Maharashtra, MP, and Rajasthan—training over 3,500 teachers and reaching 95,000 students to modernize teaching practices in early and elementary education. WikipediaIndulgexpress

Funding from this evening will support:

  • Healthcare camps and clean drinking water solutions in rural areas
  • Skill-building workshops for women and youth to boost local livelihoods
  • Expansion of educational and livelihood projects like Pimparwadi Integrated Tribal Development
  • Sustainable farming initiatives promoting self-reliance and local produce

MF Fundraiser 2025 – Edison (NJ)

On May 10, 2025, Maharashtra Foundation organized a heart-warming Fundraiser Event in New Jersey, bringing together supporters, well-wishers, and community members from across the tri-state area.

Purpose of the Event

The fundraiser was aimed at generating resources for grassroots development projects in rural Maharashtra, including:

  • Village Development Programs (education, water access, women’s empowerment)
  • Healthcare and Nutrition Initiatives
  • Livelihood and Skill Development Opportunities
  • Environmental and Sustainability Projects

Highlights of the Evening

  • 🎶 Cultural Program – Marathi music, dance, and poetry celebrating the heritage of Maharashtra.
  • 🎤 Guest Speakers & Celebrities –
      • Atul Kulkarni (Renowned Marathi & Bollywood Actor) shared how “education and self-reliance are the true foundations of progress, and initiatives like these connect the diaspora to meaningful change in villages.”
    • Sonali Kulkarni (Acclaimed Actress) spoke about “the power of women-led development and how even small contributions can create ripples of empowerment in rural Maharashtra.”
    • Suhas Joshi (Veteran Theater Artist) highlighted the importance of “preserving cultural roots while giving back to the community.”
